kids ropes course

Can kids go to a rope adventure park?

It can sometimes be difficult to find outdoor activities that are kid friendly. As a family, the last thing you want is to get the kids excited for an adventure, only to arrive and find out the smallest family members would be left out.

At Orlando Tree Trek, however, we love our little adventurers! We often get the questions “Is a ropes course fun for kids?” and “Can kids zipline?” Here, the answer is almost always yes! This treetop trek is perfect for families who want to experience adventures in Florida but don’t want the hassle of waiting in long theme park lines. With a variety of courses that get progressively higher and harder, we like to say we have something for everyone.

For the youngest adventurers

Our adult courses might seem a little intimidating for the kids, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be left on the sidelines. At Tree Trek, we have two separate kids ropes course with 21 aerial obstacles for kids ages 6 to 8. Our kids ropes course is designed at a smaller scale so kids can reach and so they can feel accomplished as they crush the obstacles. Participants must be able to reach a height of 4’7” with their fingertips while their feet are flat on the ground. They also must be under adult supervision at all times on the obstacle course. Parents are invited to follow along on the walking trail underneath…it’s a great spot to capture the memories with photos!

Older kids can climb too

We didn’t forget about our older kids! While kids 9 to 11 might be a little bored on the kids course, they might also find the hardest parts of our adult course a little out of reach. At our rope park, we also have a junior ticket, which includes the first three courses of the adult ticket. These adventurers must be able to reach the tips of their fingers to a height of 5’9” while they’re keeping their feet flat on the ground. They also get to experience zip lining in Florida with our giant adventure park ziplines! Kids 12 and older can also take their shot at the adult ticket, with all four courses. As always, they can call for a guide and get down if they ever feel stuck.

What to know before your treetop trek

Ready to bring the whole family out for an adventure in Orlando? First thing’s first, all guests must fill out a waiver. For those under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must fill it out. After the waiver is filled out, an instructor will assist in putting on a safety harness, and adventurers will move onto a training session. This allows our climbers to learn the ropes of our tree to tree adventure park and get familiar with the equipment. Note: Climbers must weigh less than 275 pounds and have a 44-inch waist or smaller to use our required safety equipment. Once you and the kids have mastered our safety system, you’re ready to head up for your adventure.
