Rope adventure park tips: What to know before you go
So, you’re thinking about going to a rope adventure park for the first time. While we at Orlando Tree Trek feel our second home is in the air among the trees, we understand that taking on a treetop trek for the first time can be a little bit intimidating.
You might wonder what you should wear at a ropes course, what you should bring or even how physically fit you need to be to take on a rope park.
Don’t sweat it! We’ve come up with the following things to know before you go so that you can be prepared for your visit and have the best experience possible.
Wear proper clothing.
When going to a tree to tree adventure park, it is important to wear something that is light and comfortable. Athletic apparel and tennis shoes are a great option. To help keep you safe and avoid snags, we recommend not wearing loose, baggy clothing or any dangling jewelry that could get caught somewhere. If you have long hair, you may also want to tie it back to avoid tangling.
Rest the night before.
Because tree to tree adventures require some energy and physical activity, you will want to make sure you get plenty of sleep before embarking on the obstacle course. Some sections of the course may be challenging, and it will help if your body is fully rested as you swing and climb on the course.
It is always a good idea to stretch before doing physical activity. Because you will be on your feet for a long time and will be using different muscles than you are used to, it is especially important to stretch before conquering a rope adventure park. When stretching, make sure to spend extra time stretching out your legs as rope courses involve plenty of climbing and balancing that will challenge your body.
Make sure you are mentally prepared.
It’s just as important to prepare mentally as physically before taking on the ropes course. At Tree Trek, you’ll be up to 50 feet above the ground on your adventures in Florida, so you’ll want to get ready for the thrill! You might be conquering your fear of heights or motivating a friend to finish the course.
Bring water, bug spray and sunscreen.
Nothing ruins a fun day outside like bug bites or a sunburn, so be sure to apply bug spray and sunscreen before hitting the course. Additionally, water will help you stay hydrated while you get a workout like no other! If you don’t feel like bringing your own water, we at Tree Trek sell water bands that will allow you to enjoy unlimited water from the coolers after each course.
Going to a rope adventure park is a thrill! Ropes courses and ziplines will push you outside of your comfort zone as well as bring you a sense of achievement and boost your confidence. Plus, nothing beats the feeling of zip lining in Florida and taking in the beautiful Florida landscape.
